Free WiFi is both the saviour and bane of my travel life.
When there is none, I get stressed out about how I can maintain luk.earth.
When it is limited, I stare into my screens without accomplishing much, trying to update, backup, download.
When there is fast internet, my devices work well, but I fall back into all the news and media holes that I've made such an effort to avoid at home.
Although this problem has undoubtedly existed with mediums other than the internet, the fact that I have such a hard time using it mindfully is disconcerting. If I could make a choice, I would still go for fast omnipresent internet. Many of the services that make my life easier don't require active maintenance, as long as my devices connect regularly.
